Anybody Got a Spare Kidney ?

Santa, Can You Bring Me a Kidney for Christmas Please..

I’m not talking crazy nor am I talking figuratively. I’m asking for a Kidney this christmas for My Hubby.

Record-setting Kidney Swap Saves Lives.

I don’t talk about the hubby much, because he is so private. there is alot going on at my home right now in many ways. deaths, problems, issues with health and of course living with hubbys’ renal failure. His doctors have given him a no-go on a transplant. this is in essence a death sentence. a very slow and painful death sentence.

this is not a choice you get to make, when you need an organ; it’s a choice made for you by doctors, nurses and a committee.

yes a committee decides if you are worthy of receiving even a cadaver kidney..

this is ludicrous to me, because if I am willing to donate a kidney to be a part of a transplant chain, surely they can put it together. but alas that’s not how it works; if you are not a millionaire.

that’s why that mass transplant was such a christmas miracle for each of the donors and recipients. I pray for them all and ask you to think about your loved ones this year. you never know what could be just around the corner for you, health wise.

Then we have this story where the doctor himself is accused of Buying and Selling Organs. there have been many reports of Indian Organ Rackets over the years. this is the first time I have seen a doctor as the accused. this just goes to show you, how bad the problem is for those who are in need of an organ.  India has a hospital system for transplants; and apparently it works.

As the loved one of someone who has been denied a chance at a transplant; and also as a confirmed Organ Donor; I just want to take this time to say to each of my friends – cherish the time, live it to it’s fullest and savour it like the finest cognac. Life is a present. there is nothing greater than being able to wake up and see the day, and those you love.

This Christmas, Think of those who Love You

Give Of Yourself – Literally. This is Your Way of Making History. In the age of science and technology, nothing is more elusive than Life. Do all you can to make it the best you can make it, and never forget those who’s lives are impacted by yours.

Make it Memorable for All – Give YOU This Holiday, Peace, Love and Hope to You All

Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery. Today is a gift, that's why we call it the present.

That's really awful about your hubby, but there must be a reason behind the denial. Sometimes the patient is just too sick to survive the operation, you know?

Yes Ruth – there are always reasons, but that's not the reason;the reason is that we are dealing with the VA – and Private Medicaidsupplimental. whatever the VA Says Goes. the VA is 99% NO on Transplants.they'd rather pay 90.000. per month for dialysis.it's the healthcare catch 22. insurance companies run hospitals;not doctors. the doctors have guidelines that are set by the insurance companythat they follow, not their own recommendations.that's the facts Ruth, hope you realize that.Best,~REBadGalsRadio.com // Reality in a Foundation Sound

I know there's just so much I can say to sound comforting but the burden is on you, your family and most of all, your husband. I can only imagine the pain and anxiety your family is going through. I'm so sorry I couldn't do anything but just giving a little advice that if it seems like every where's a dead end, you just have to have faith and believe that things will fall into place. Don't stop your efforts to find a donor and always have faith. I pray you will find the miracle for your husband. Take care…

Hello Christopher – my hubby has been on Dialysis for several years now. dialysis is only as the patients call it “The Iron Vampire” which drains you to death.

If I may ask how long does your husband go for? my old man goes for 4 hours on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday's.

Btw, I am starting to like this INTENSE DEBATE DOO HICKY you got here… I think I might install it on my blog and see how it goes :) How long have you been using it and have you had any problems out of it before I sign up and install it?

So it's government red tape and politicking—that's awful. Almost makes you want to go to the media, doesn't it? Heck, you never know, that might work–shame them into changing their minds. I've seen plenty of investigative reports on the news where they said when the organization found out the story was getting out they did what they should have in the first place to fix the situation. The last thing they want is bad publicity, you know?

This is just another example of why we need to reform the health care system. As I understand it there are provisions in the bills going through Congress that would prevent this sort of thing.

Ruth you know that’s why I’m so closely watching this whole health care debate. I plan to make it clear to the legislators in my districts that if they cross me, they will be out of a job – guaranteed.

the right to treatment is supposed to be universal; and we have bcbs so it’s not like we’re begging for someone to pay for the surgery. the criteria cuts out minorities across the board; women next. the figures show that 80% of ALL transplants go to White Males. wonder why?

that's a miracle – and you should be very grateful.

now we have a real complication as he was diagnosed today with h1n1
and he's in hospital in isolation.

guess who else has it now – yes that's right, I'm off to the doctor tomorrow for my tamiflu.
the sore throat, fever and coughing whipped me down all day today; but tomorrow I get
my meds to help fight it off.

    prayers are appreciated
