Santa, Can You Bring Me a Kidney for Christmas Please..
I’m not talking crazy nor am I talking figuratively. I’m asking for a Kidney this christmas for My Hubby.
Record-setting Kidney Swap Saves Lives.
I don’t talk about the hubby much, because he is so private. there is alot going on at my home right now in many ways. deaths, problems, issues with health and of course living with hubbys’ renal failure. His doctors have given him a no-go on a transplant. this is in essence a death sentence. a very slow and painful death sentence.
this is not a choice you get to make, when you need an organ; it’s a choice made for you by doctors, nurses and a committee.
yes a committee decides if you are worthy of receiving even a cadaver kidney..
this is ludicrous to me, because if I am willing to donate a kidney to be a part of a transplant chain, surely they can put it together. but alas that’s not how it works; if you are not a millionaire.
that’s why that mass transplant was such a christmas miracle for each of the donors and recipients. I pray for them all and ask you to think about your loved ones this year. you never know what could be just around the corner for you, health wise.
Then we have this story where the doctor himself is accused of Buying and Selling Organs. there have been many reports of Indian Organ Rackets over the years. this is the first time I have seen a doctor as the accused. this just goes to show you, how bad the problem is for those who are in need of an organ. India has a hospital system for transplants; and apparently it works.
As the loved one of someone who has been denied a chance at a transplant; and also as a confirmed Organ Donor; I just want to take this time to say to each of my friends – cherish the time, live it to it’s fullest and savour it like the finest cognac. Life is a present. there is nothing greater than being able to wake up and see the day, and those you love.
This Christmas, Think of those who Love You
Give Of Yourself – Literally. This is Your Way of Making History. In the age of science and technology, nothing is more elusive than Life. Do all you can to make it the best you can make it, and never forget those who’s lives are impacted by yours.
Make it Memorable for All – Give YOU This Holiday, Peace, Love and Hope to You All

Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery. Today is a gift, that's why we call it the present.
That's really awful about your hubby, but there must be a reason behind the denial. Sometimes the patient is just too sick to survive the operation, you know?
Yes Ruth – there are always reasons, but that's not the reason;the reason is that we are dealing with the VA – and Private Medicaidsupplimental. whatever the VA Says Goes. the VA is 99% NO on Transplants.they'd rather pay 90.000. per month for dialysis.it's the healthcare catch 22. insurance companies run hospitals;not doctors. the doctors have guidelines that are set by the insurance companythat they follow, not their own recommendations.that's the facts Ruth, hope you realize that.Best,~REBadGalsRadio.com // Reality in a Foundation Sound
I know there's just so much I can say to sound comforting but the burden is on you, your family and most of all, your husband. I can only imagine the pain and anxiety your family is going through. I'm so sorry I couldn't do anything but just giving a little advice that if it seems like every where's a dead end, you just have to have faith and believe that things will fall into place. Don't stop your efforts to find a donor and always have faith. I pray you will find the miracle for your husband. Take care…
So sorry to hear he’s still struggling with this issue. I’ll ask Santa and I’ll pray for your husband that he should receive a kidney. Good luck and you and your hubby will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Ooooo Bobo,, Thank You Very Much.
Every Prayer Means So Much to Us and I’m sure The Most High As Well. they say miracles happen at christmas; we’re hopeful and prayerful.
ACTUALLY its not a Death Sentance
You see my OLD MAN is taking DIALYSIS… Every TUESDAY, THURSDAY, and SATURDAY and he has been doing this for the last 15 months since he found out LUPUS killed his kidneys. He has maybe a 25 percent function can barely urinate but its not filtering. and he has medicare and all that taking care of that and hes on DISABILITY by the state of Texas too.
How come your old man wont do that?
Hello Christopher – my hubby has been on Dialysis for several years now. dialysis is only as the patients call it “The Iron Vampire” which drains you to death.
I didn't know you were married. I'm so sorry for what your both going through. I truly believe my Grandpa would still be alive if it weren't for their careless, incompetent mistakes. My hugs and prayers to the both of you.
Reeni I know you feel it, because you know it too.
send prayers girlfriend, that's what the world needs most.
Next Year I'm donating alot of PSA Time and Space to the Kidney Foundation
and hopefully that will help us to all understand how devistating this disease is.

Yeah, LOL I can so agree with that !
They stick and prod and pull and one day they has to stick him 5 times before they could get him to going for his for his dialysys..
If I may ask how long does your husband go for? my old man goes for 4 hours on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday's.
Btw, I am starting to like this INTENSE DEBATE DOO HICKY you got here… I think I might install it on my blog and see how it goes
How long have you been using it and have you had any problems out of it before I sign up and install it?
So it's government red tape and politicking—that's awful. Almost makes you want to go to the media, doesn't it? Heck, you never know, that might work–shame them into changing their minds. I've seen plenty of investigative reports on the news where they said when the organization found out the story was getting out they did what they should have in the first place to fix the situation. The last thing they want is bad publicity, you know?
This is just another example of why we need to reform the health care system. As I understand it there are provisions in the bills going through Congress that would prevent this sort of thing.
Ruth you know that’s why I’m so closely watching this whole health care debate. I plan to make it clear to the legislators in my districts that if they cross me, they will be out of a job – guaranteed.
the right to treatment is supposed to be universal; and we have bcbs so it’s not like we’re begging for someone to pay for the surgery. the criteria cuts out minorities across the board; women next. the figures show that 80% of ALL transplants go to White Males. wonder why?
Dropping by to say Have a Happy Healthy Holidays to you and your family!
WOW! Reply by email eh? Sounds cool…. I tried DISQUS and its a pain in the #$R@#$ and I lost alot of comments on it…. And was a PITA to remove lol… Thanks might have to install it now!
Yeah, my old man goes 4 hours no matter what his bloodwork says… Hes on at 7 and off by 11:25

I have another question, I just installed I.D. on mine…. Did you tell it to INSTALL I.D. on all comments or just new blog entries? I told it to install it for all post's?
you need to let it populate to get all comments.
it could take upto a week to populate.
patience is the key to getting it working and tweaked.

I'm thinking with that ugly photo, you aren't going to get many folks to consider it. Really–I think you are scaring people off.
Oh Lin – are you serious ?lets just assume since you are usually joking on your blog that you are here too.please, before commenting on something so serious, THINK then type.this is a picture of a man from the second video – who was a victim of the organ snatching ring.obtw Lin, Did you even read the story or look at either video ?and since you are not serious – I want to assure you that I AM.Best,~REBadGalsRadio.com // Reality in a Foundation Sound
My brother was in need of a kidney and I was ready to donate mine. After several months of being on Dialysis, he eventually got better. I know what it's like to see someone you care about suffer. I'm wishing you and your family the best.
wow he was able to come off of dialysis ?
that's a miracle – and you should be very grateful.
now we have a real complication as he was diagnosed today with h1n1
and he's in hospital in isolation.
guess who else has it now – yes that's right, I'm off to the doctor tomorrow for my tamiflu.
the sore throat, fever and coughing whipped me down all day today; but tomorrow I get
my meds to help fight it off.
prayers are appreciated
Best,

Yes. He was able to come off. I'll have to tell you the story some other time. It's amazing how the body will often fight hard to keep what's necessary in order to survive. Best wishes to you, your hubby and BFF.
wowww that’s a miracle. you should write about it because I’m sure alot of people would like to know how he was able to repair his renal problems.
See this is proof that miracles do happen everyday.
Oh gosh, how hard this must be, to wait!!
I hope and pray your husband gets a kidney soon. God bless you guys REAL good. You keep us updated!! Let us know when he gets his kidney, and we'll have a blog party!
You See Rebecca – that's it, they've decided he WONT Get A Kidney
so no party dear –
