My blog was hacked today. Somehow someone inserted a huge line of code into my blogs header which caused it to redirect to a bunch of stupid sites. I wish I could redirect something right back at them that would blow up their damn computers while they’re busy hacking into someone’s private property. These people make me insane!!!!! I wasn’t aware of how much I didn’t know about these morons. I didn’t know that hacker isn’t really an appropriate word for these #$$@^&*(), the appropriate term would be cracker. Hackers break code for good and crackers break code for evil. Here’s some info from a great site which helped me better understand the world of a hack or crack or whatever the heck they are. hackingalert.com
Personally I notified several bloggers this week that they’d been infected with this stupid lil click trash. yes it’s a click virus.
Who Would Want to Make This Trash ?
this thing only has one purpose – to fake clicks
now we all know that this is behaviour created by people who want to cheat a click based reward system. why do it ? well lets just say that somefolks have no initiative. they think everything should be handed to them on a Silver Platter. I don’t think so crackers..

This is the Virus = Trojan-Clicker.JS.Small.c
Trojan Clickers
This family of Trojans redirects victim machines to specified websites or other Internet resources. Clickers either send the necessary commands to the browser or replace system files where standard Internet urls are stored (e.g. the ‘hosts’ file in MS Windows).
Clickers are used:
- To raise the hit-count of a specific site for advertising purposes
- To organize a DoS attack on a specified server or site
- To lead the victim to an infected resource where the machine will be attacked by other malware (viruses or Trojans)

I would greatly appreciate you getting the word out that even though I am a crackerhead by nature, I ain't not stinkin' cracker! Well, maybe I am to some. For I am about as white as one can be (hey, I get a sunburn just thinking about the sun!), but I have never inserted a malicious code in my life. In fact, I wouldn't know one if it was biting me on the tookis! (That's not protesting too much–is it?)

I've already had one EC member try to scam me and I still have several dropping on my blog despite the fact I removed the widget!

Hey thanks for the info. I was clickin entrecard/adgitizin, yesterday and before and noticed this. F**k, these MF'ers! Question, I am a blogspoter, can I prevent this? I see links for WP, but I'm new and tech challenged. Will try one of em, anyhow.

I use Opera browser to drop cards, and so far, it's seemed immune from EC viruses. What IS IT with all these viruses on EC?!?!

That really pardon my English SUCKS. Why do people need to hijack such personal property like a blog? I know it is only going to get worse before it gets better. I was talking to a real programmer, who knows her stuff and she told me all kinds of things that are being done now. And it isn't from the teenager who is fooling around, they have pretty much have given up, because the defenses against hackers are getting tougher. She told me it is much bigger players like organized crime, especially from foreign countries. Not to mention any in particular (Russia) cough.
Hope you stay safe and always it is a blessing to see you stop by at MOB, where we also had our major problems this week as well. But it was from my end not anyone trying to break in, ay lerast I think so. Have a wonderful weekend, Glenn

wow Lynne, you got it right. 100 percent. some sites take a long time to load if they have alot of widgetry – like this one for instance. but mine is not selling anything nor is it redirecting you without you clicking anything. these people are doing this to enrich their fortunes at the mistortune of others who don't realize what is really happening. it's partially entrecard's fault since they have thrown open the gates to all kinds of sites, more of this has started to happen; consistently.
it's just too bad they don't see they are the thing that makes the internet unenjoyable – the crackers that is. entrecard just wants to accumulate enough hits to look legitimate to get a buyer. I doubt any of us matter that much to them, unfortunantly. maybe we should just all start writing them continuously asking them what they plan to do about the virus baiters ?
Honestly Lynne, do you think they'd bother to reply ? I seriously doubt it.

I think if you clean your computer and then look at the code in your blogspot template for your widgets and the template itself you might be able to catch it and get rid of it; if it's there. if you need help post a message and I'll be glad to give you my head to bang against the wall with yours

you are smart to listen to her. make sure you listen closely because she is telling you exactly right. most cracking is done for information and identity theft; and the largest theft rings right now are in china, russia, and israel.
in those countries education is superior and the smart ones can spend countless hours learning programming from when they are kids and become masters at it. the only problem is they are talented and broke; until the mob sees their skills and then bingo they have a golden parachute for a lil while at least.
I've heard that the russian mafia sets you up in an apartment and if you want to stop, they shoot you and move another cracker in to replace you. raw, realllllll raw. apparently most credit card theft is happening this way. also chinese authorities attempted to stop their internet crime problems by harnessing the speed of the internet. that only made the hackers use repeters and start running superspeed. it's really time the police started hiring them instead of locking them up if they want to catch up with the criminals.

Well Rebe I think most of the virus activity is co-opting clicks. they need to drive traffic to secondary sites and this is how they do it. stupidly wicked genius. and yes my dear entrecard knows.

Edi when the computer got trashed last year, I went through the harddrive and pulled what info I could from the
browser to determine what site stuck and caused the motherboard to fry. it was one of his clickfarms.
I should have hit him with a bill for the pc, but I am too nice sometimes and let shit go. I did report it to Cindy and she did nothing about it. this is right about the time I started not dropping on martin and he continued to drop on my sites regardless. he also dropped on all of us lastweek from a non widgeted account – HOW ?
ahhhhhhhhhhh maybe we’ve found the fly in the ointment.
