POD: Tivoli Stories – where it all began.. Jamaicas’ First Civil War
Today We Start The Tivoli Stories – the reality of the Jamaican Civil War
First let us give you a little history lesson from Jamaica. this is the story that breaks the seal on the book. you see Tivoli is the heart of Jamaica for many reasons. most of them stem from the money links developed through the kingston stronghold and their community leaders – like the man Jim Brown.

we were just chillaxin and not even concerning ourselves with the fact that he was literally dying as we sat there. you see he had just been diagnosed with AIDS. he was on his final tour of his career and this was one of his final stops.
I made my way there to spend a little more time with my friend. I didn’t know that he was sick, as you can see I look happy, and he looks a little tired. he had just performed for one and a half hours to a packed club. the show was a sell-out and he was in great form.
someone said to me after he died that maybe he looked somewhat happy to see me, because he knew he’d never see me again. I laughed them off and said, well why did he come here to perform then, if not to see me. that was the end of the convo, because that was a fact.
This video is Femi Kuti; His Father was Fela Kuti shown above.
You See We Yorubas’ believe that you send the soul away dancing and remembering the good; because the bad no longer matters. it is important to remember that his spirit is still with us, because we believe that he will remain with us for at least twenty one days. during that time he will complete spiritual connections, and begin his work as an ancestor; helping those of us who remain in his love.
His Father Fela Died of AIDS in 1997 – this is his statement to the world
“It’s Serious“. yes brothaman it is, quite serious. it cost us many many lives, and still we are not sure what it really is. how terrible is that ?
This is Fela Kuti’s Funeral – it was massive; largest in Nigerian history
There is clearly a message here people. AIDS is not a Gay Disease, it’s a KILLER who cares not for your sex, or sexual preference. only the fact that you are not careful and didn’t think before you “Phucked Up”.
Live Goes On, so we should all remember that Protection and Awareness are the two largest keys to remaining HIV Free. there is never a time that you can take a chance, regardless of who it is or what is happening.
This is your life and you can end it that quickly,
Be Safe and Remember that We All Know Someone – so we don’t need to be the next one. Protect Yourself; and Your Lover.
Think Before You Screw Up Your Future, Really Doh -
It’s Tuesday and as promised – more bs. this is still about musicrap. After Watching This I’m not sure if these Pirates have gone too far; This is Reeeealllly Bad Mr Bean
Now imagine you are sitting at the bus stop waiting for your coach and watching a lil Mr. Bean music vid on your celly; and all of a sudden these guys pull up and WHAM ! you get a fast 50. cal to the keyboard. somehow I think this may help keep people in Somalia from making bs ringtones.
Today alot of people don’t use video ringtones; and or play videos on their phones. However alot of people who are in more techno challenged societies utilize whatever method they can; to enjoy as much of the rest of the world as possible. somefolks however think that’s not such a great idea. to prove their point I submit the video below from Current Tevee – Supernews and Weird Al Yankovic. if this does’t make you want to slap somebodys celly, then you are tone dead.
I know I don’t want the Al Qaeda Censors rating my ringtone
Hardline al Shabaab insurgents who seized the southern Somali port of Kismayu have banned “corrupt” musical ringtones.
A Somali militant talks on his phone in Rabdure district, west of Mogadishu
Sacdiyo Sheeq, 25, used to love listening to Bollywood movie songs on her mobile telephone in the failed Horn of Africa state.
But she told reporters: “Al Shabaab wants our ringtones to be only a Muslim cleric reading the Hadith or Koranic verse.
“I used to listen to my favourite Indian songs on my cell phone, but now I have just thrown that memory away.”
I am still suffering from the 25 lashes. They accused me of rejecting religion.
Mr Yusuf was whipped because of music on his phone
Al Shabaab, which America says is al Qaeda’s proxy in Somalia, wants to topple the country’s UN-backed government and impose its own strict version of Sharia law.
The heavily-armed group controls much of the south and parts of the capital Mogadishu.
Courts run by its clerics have ordered executions, floggings and amputations in recent months.
Al Shabaab has also banned movies, dancing at wedding ceremonies and playing or watching football in the areas under its control.

“We do not tolerate anything that may corrupt the people,” al Shabaab’s spokesman in Kismayu, Sheikh Hassan Yaqub, said.
“We don’t allow anything that goes against our religion, especially music and sexy videos.”
Ali Mahamud Yusuf, 19, fled his home in Kismayu after he was whipped in public last week by al Shabaab gunmen who had caught him listening to music and watching videos on his phone.
He said: “I am still suffering from the 25 lashes. They accused me of rejecting religion. I don’t want to tell you where I am now for security reasons. I am scared.”
Fighting has killed 19,000 Somalis since the start of 2007.
While some civilians credit the insurgents with restoring a semblance of order in various areas, al Shabaab’s strict rules have alienated many Somalis who are traditionally moderate Muslims.
Seriously, how messed up is this. Al Shabaab insurgents in Somalia (Al Qaeda’s proxy in the region) are going around flogging teenagers for listening to music and watching videos on their phones. Not to mention the senseless killings and amputations.
Fighting has killed almost 20,000 Somalis since 2007, and though some semblance of order has been restored, the imposed Sharia law has banned even regular moderate muslims from dancing at weddings, or even playing and watching soccer. If you’re having a bad day today, take a moment and remember just how good you actually do have it. [Reuters]
really that’s all I want to ask but since this is Monday we know it’s about the Music – and not the plot.
I’m sure if you watched this you are joining me in the state of confusion. now what is this, is he Andy Sandberg the comedian and is the other character supposed to be Reba in Drag ? Reba Who ? Reba MacIntyre the country singer? okay I wanted to slap him when he reached in that dumpster and put that wig on. I am so through..
it’s music monday so you know we’re gonna hit ya back in a day after we get our confuzzle un fuzled.
Mr Vegas always brings the drama. she opens his internet connected page on myspace to see his fans. I’m sure that has happened to lots of people. we try to keep it clean so none of that is a major problem.
Just watching the first half of the video, You would have never believed you’d be seeing Michael Jackson ina Mr. Vegas Video ? WOW. that was some hot dancing. Lets All Do It Our Way.
The Sassa Step – by Mr. Vegas
it’s easy – step to the side twice, then turn and step to the other side twice. then shake it in the middle and do it your way. Easy as Easy Can Be. this is our Music and Movement Monday submission.
Okay now that we have that out of the way. (wink*wink) for music monday; lets take a look at a whole new kettle of fish. pun totally intended,
Don’t act like you don’t know those symbols. I have it on good authority that many of you reading this, have; and will be using these very same emoticons later this afternoon; and probably later tonite with other parties, if you get the chance. (smdh)
Just in case we have a few rank amateurs out there, here’s a lil help so that you can get your A-Game on
In a sentence: “He keeps sexting me saying how hard he is and how much he wants to tap my ass,” Cindy said massaging her breasts unconsciously.
This is not a new phenomenon and apparently it works the same in all languages that utilize emoticons. people feel they should be able to display their innermost freak to the person at the other end of their text; regardless of if they know them intimately or not.
WRONG
What if that person is a kid, or two kids, or a predator ? hmmm now the picture is changing. ahhhhhh,,,
According to an AARP News article the senior set has embraced sexting. And, the don’t face the same legal issues as young people face.
Here’s how the AARP News report launches into the topic, “When Roger gets to an intimate stage with a woman these days, it usually doesn’t take long until the sexy photos start. His dating partners either request that he send them a suggestive-or downright explicit-photo from his cell phone to theirs, or they just send one themselves, completely unsolicited.”
I guess it makes sense, but the article points out that Roger, 59, has been “enjoying” this form of high-tech flirtation for years now with a bevy of sassy ladies.
“Shocked? Don’t be. More and more of the 50+ set, both single and married, are using text messaging to spice up their sex lives. Boomers, often sandwiched between teenagers, aging parents, and busy work schedules, are taking advantage of the new technology because it’s fast, easy, and fun.”
Relationship coach Suzanne Blake told AARP News she has seen and heard it all when it comes to sexting, including a wife who enjoys sexting her husband while he’s traveling on business, telling (and showing) him what he’s missing at home. While this may surprise some, Blake’s not surprised at all.
So far, I haven’t noticed many seniors being outed for their kinky pixs, but there’s sort of a unwritten law about nude photos. It goes this something like this, “If you allow a nude picture to be taken of you it will sooner or later end up in the public eye” – it a real case of information wanting to be free.
yes this is your weekly PSA -Remember Don’t Text Drunk, or While Driving; or Feeling Sexy. It could come back to bite ya in the, wellll you know,,FUTURE.
