We just wanted to update everyone that the sponsor ads will be postponed for another week, until Oct. 5, 2009. When it is implemented, users will have the option to opt out of the sponsor ads program completely for a small fee. For just $50 a year, you can have your widget free of sponsor ads. We have provided this option for those of you who are concerned about the sponsor ads. Thank you for your support.
Now we get this $50.00 Hoe Ticket. that’s what it is and regardless of what they call it or how they try to dress it up – it’s a Hoe Ticket.
Why would they say this after less than two months of really bad changes in succession especially when they said “No To Paid Ads” ?

Andrew.. ur ruh who ever this character in the Entredrama is; has decided that it’s time to take the gloves off and see how the entrecarders will react to his stiff hand technique. Personally I’m a big fan of Wu Tang and Kung Fu Flicks so I recognized it as “Stiff Hand” or in america “Pimp Hand” immediately.
The only remedy my Fellow Entrecarders is to either bow to the master and accept his “Pimp Hand Ticket”; or say that Your Wu Tang is Stronger and get busy in the dojo. we live at the dojo so you kno;
We know our Wu Tang is Quite Strong. So We’re going to see how they push their plan across the table on Oct 5th. We’ll continue to see the battle from the inside for as long as our hummer holds out. then we’re off to the bunker.

Dropping by to ask for your prayers and support for the victims of Typhoon Ondoy. Many have already passed away, thousands are still missing and even more are left without food, shelter and clothing. Children have been separated from their parents. We really need your help – even in prayers alone as this was one of the worst flooding that has struck Metro Manila, Philippines. I am still taking a "wait and see" approach. But I do not think I will be spending $50 of my hard-earned money for the "privilege" of not running advertising.
I wonder if they will accept $50 worth of fresh chicken shit? Granted, they won't be able to use it right away, but it really makes good compost and everyone agrees it's hot shit.
I won't be spending $50. It's not a question of having the $50. It's a question of what I'm getting for that $50 in return. I get maybe 20 drops a day on my blog from EC. That's not a whole lot. Those 20 don't always come with 20 comments or 20 people staying for more than a few seconds. When I have several ads running, I may get up to 70 or 80 drops, but now that we don't get credits for being dropped on, it takes me forever to save up enough credits to have several ads running at once. So basically I think 20 is the number for me. I could probably get that just commenting on other people's sites, actually using BlogCatalog for once, and even trying out other services like CMF, Adgetize, or Project Wonderful. I know those cost, but you're told the costs upfront.
I guess like Daisy, I'm waiting and seeing at this point. Like you, I believe it probably is a bluff. A few weeks ago, TPTB were all about there being no other option. Then the troops started rallying. Suddenly, they change their mindz. If the troops continue to rally, who's to say they won't change them again. It's what happened before.
What I'm worried about, too, is how do we know that the ads won't show up even if we paid the money. They showed up last time, even after some of us set our settings to "No Paid Ads."
Other questions: If you pay the money, will you be sent to the bottom of the search pile? If so, 20 drops may become 5, which is definitely not worth $50. Will there be a secure system in place to take the payment? When the cash out program began, they were taking SS numbers on unsecure forms. If you decide after a month that you're done, will you get a prorated refund? I've heard horror stories on how long it takes them to respond to your emails. Heck, I still have some from months ago that no one answered of mine. I don't even remember what they're about now. Can you imagine how long it would take if the email concerns money? Will this $50 actually go towards them doing things that need to be done, like speeding up load time (EC always slows up my sidebar) or having someone canceling the virus-related accounts? If money is so important, why have the ads gone from EC's own blog? There used to be some. What happens if EC is sold again in a few months or shuts down altogether? Do they take the $50 and run?
There are just too many questions and not enough answers.
By the way, the attitude has already started on the forums like last time. I'm not just talking about threads being closed. I'm also talking about EC employees (not the mods) coming in and saying they could care less what we think. Like I said before, deja vu.

I'm with you, RE. I don't like what's happening at EC and as soon as my ads run out, I'm gone. Have you seen the forums? It is getting very ugly again, just like a few months ago…I'm sorry because I spent over a year there and have dropped about a gazillion cards. Of course now I will have a couple of freed-up hours in my day which is good

EC or no EC, I'm prepared, sort of. Experimenting with my own, personal, new drop lists even as I wait and see. BUT the EC widget goes to the bottom tonight…and then? Hell if I know….$50? No way…and what happens if there are no takers for their "15% solution"?????

I've been in EntreCard for quite a while and am not liking the direction that it is going.
When EntreCard started with the PaidAds routine, I refused them… With EC now running a referral program as well, its just become another junk exchange.
I held off leaving in hopes that the new owners would bring life back into EC. I should have stuck to my instincts. The idea of me PAYING them NOT to show their paid ads on MY blog was the final straw.
My traffic sharing program, "Along for the Ride!" has done remarkably better then EC for quality traffic in its short life thanks to its many good members. I'll just have more time to work on it soon.

I decided late last week to stop doing Entrecard. I was at the top of my category for months and faithfully did my 300 drops daily in order to get enough credits to continue to advertise on some of the top rated blogs. Then comes the no credit for others dropping on your blog – hmmm, guess we aren't supposed to care how many people we have visiting our blogs (WTH?!) and then I find out that they stopped the pay per post credit awhile back (shows you how much attention I was paying) – okay so they no longer even care whether or not we put anything new on our blog – so now we're down to they don't care if you get visits nor do they care if you post anything on a regular basis – so WTH is the point of blogging?! That smacks of click farmers, right? Okay, so I cancel all ads I had placed and get my credits back. I cancel all ads for those wanting to advertise on my blog with an explanation that I'm getting out of Entrecard. I give away all my credits (or most of them) and pay a 12.5% fee to transfer those credits to other bloggers on Entrecard! WTH?! 12.% to Entrecard so those credits can be transferred. Another slap in the face – we don't care how many hours you spent getting those thousands of credits – give us 12.5% of them back. Then I move the widget down the page and post two days in a row about leaving Entrecard so my visitors know to follow my blog or somehow tag the blog so they can find me again. Then I removed the widget from my blog on Monday and guess what, somehow there are still drops showing up in my Drops Box!!!! I stopped taking any ads on Entrecard so I don't have a gazillion people wanting to run an ad on my blog. Of course, when you no longer take ads, nobody can even find you on Entrecard because you don't show up in their Campaign lists. I haven't closed my Entrecard account yet because I wanted to be a fly on the wall to see WTH comes down the pike next. So how are people still dropping on my blog if there isn't an Entrecard widget on my blog?! Can anybody explain this one to me? Sigh, I'm just tired of all the trauma and drama – if I wanted that kind of crap in my life I'd go be a teacher at a Middle School somewhere. Uh, just kidding, there is no way I can take that kind of crap in my life – so I'm out of Entrecard and enjoying those extra hours a day to visit only the blogs I really enjoy and commenting where I feel compelled to – hey, see where I'm at?! I'll keep tuning in just to see how the bruhaha at EC comes down. I'm just glad I'm no longer in the line of fire. Just an interested bystander now. Best of wishes to the rest of you who have decided to ride it out. I hope it turns out better than we predict.

In regards to "Along for the Ride!", I look forward to seeing you. Everything is transparent, including the members list and you have the ability to verify the traffic you receive. Is straight forward and no guessing or questionable content as I screen all entries by hand.
